Zero Debt Progress – September 17, 2010

Well, here we are again! I just wanted to keep you all updated. We received the 401k money, and you know what? I already feel some relief. My husband and I were talking about which bills we want to get rid of first. “Get rid of” is a little weak. It’s more like kill, slaughter, murder, annihilate…well, you see what I’m saying.
I really want to chuck those credit cards.
There are two schools of thoughts here. #1. take out the cards with the highest APR. You get more bang for your buck here and save more in the end. #2. take out the lowest cards first. That gives your motivation and momentum a boost, which allows you to KEEP GOING.
You know? Both methods of getting rid of credit car debt are good. It’s really just about which way would benefit you most.
For us, I think it’ll be a bit of a combination.
There’s one card that we just can’t wait to pay off and close forever. It’s not the highest APR, nor the highest payment, but it’s our biggest nemesis.
It’s us vs. the Chase card.
And we’re about to win.
Then there’s a few big cards to deal with.
Big meaning big payments due.
We have a card with $11k, a card with $13k and a card with $7k. Sucks, right?
The plan right now is to demolish the nemesis card ($3k), the highest APR card ($7k) and the $13k card.
And possibly half of the last card ($11k).
We need to leave a little breathing room for taxes, Christmas and other things.
Now, I know what you’re thinking. We’re totally not paying off these cards in the way that I planned like Amy Bass did. By internet marketing.
And I get that. That’s what I wanted to do. And I’m still focusing on that. But right now, it’s not what’s going to save us.
I’m OK with that.
I think once we get some of these cards off our back, we’ll experience this great relief, and that will help us to allow more money to come into our lives.
Listen, this is not over for me. Not even close.
I am more focused than ever. I have new goals set, and I’m ready to achieve them.
I don’t just want to not worry about money, I want to have enough to really, truly enjoy life. That’s what we’re supposed to do. I really feel life is supposed to be fun.
We’re getting there.
All of us!

Well, pretty good things are happening with my sites that I’m working on. They’re all pretty high in the search engines still. Yay! Still waiting for more sales though.
And maybe this is crazy, but I started a new PPC campaign for one of my sites. I’m testing it out and seeing how it goes. No sales yet, but I want to wait until I get to 200 clicks to see if it brings any sales.
I know it’s not too exciting to read about “no sales today”, but I feel I’m just 1 hot niche away from complete success. I feel like I have all the right parts and pieces. I’ve learned SO much about affiliate marketing, and I’m close. Really close. I can feel it. Stick with me, you’ll see.
And once I’m there, I can help others get there too. That’s what I really want to do…
Anyway, I’m testing out Amy Bass’s The Niche Blogger, and let me tell you what. I have learned SO MUCH from this program already.
I know I have a lot of tools and sites I belong to, but each one allows me to learn something new and different. It makes the pieces of the puzzle fit together easier and faster.
I already had all the foundation from Wealthy Affiliate (And I will continue to have that foundation, plus continued support and learning. I love it there and don’t plan on ever leaving!), but The Niche Blogger is allowing me to learn something slightly different (niche blogging).
I’ve gone through Month 1, and following Amy’s guide, I tested a niche, picked a main keyword and purchased the domain for it. Now I’m setting up my site. I can’t wait to see how this one goes because it’s in a competitive niche and it gets lots of searches per month. (Something I’m lacking with my other sites.)
I’ll keep you posted how it goes!

OK, I have a few updates.
#1. I created a new web site in the past couple of days, and now I’m trying to get it ranked. I put an article through Notorious Blog Poster yesterday, but it hasn’t been ranked yet, so I will need to try that again. I also started linking some Ezine Articles to my new site. I am getting a few visits, but nothing spectacular yet.
Still, I’m happy with my site, and I will let you know if it brings in some sales!
#2. The credit card bills are starting to come in again. I started to get upset because one of our bills went UP! But then I realized it’s because my husband used it when he traveled for work. Since work will reimburse him, it’s all good.
#3. I am going through Amy Bass’s The Niche Blogger, and so far it’s really good. Now, I’m only on day 7, but it goes into detail everything you need to do to complete a niche blog. And I mean DETAIL. I love detail.
It makes everything make sense.
Now, this isn’t to discount anything else I’m using. This is just different than everything else. I’ve never focused on niche blogs before. So this is something interesting to me because I like blogs, and blogging. And to learn how to make money from them is great!
I also really love learning from different people because everyone has a different perspective and a different way of doing things. And sometimes that little different perspective makes that “AH HA!” thing go off in your brain.
#4. Did I tell you I got a payment from Squidoo for $60? This was a payment for February sales, so I think that’s pretty good. I need to take a look at this campaign because it’s gone down recently, so I need to think about how to bump it back up in the SERPs.
#5. I’m less than $3 away from a Cash Crate payment! I will finish that up and get my first payment next month. As soon as I get my check, I’ll post it.
My Zero Debt Progress (Sigh…) – April 12, 2010
Apr 12th
Yikes! Where does the time go?? Here it is almost mid-April, and I’m feeling like I’m not making much progress.
How did Amy Bass do it? How did she do it with 3 small kids and a newborn?
I’m feeling a little unworthy right now!
But, all I can do is keep writing. Keep writing at my blog here. Keep writing more and more articles. I think I will look more into Associate Content. Cancel that. I will sign up for Associated Content right NOW.
I think one of my issues is continuing to “look into” things instead of just going for it! What’s the worst that can happen if I sign up for Associated Content? I might actually make some money? Oooh, so scary! LOL.
Anyway, I’m going to go sign up as soon as I’m done with this post. (Or, I’m going to reactivate my account, since I was a member there before. I just never did anything with it. Typical me!)
While I know things are a little slow going right now, I do feel OK about things. They’re going to start to coming together. And once that ball starts rolling, it’s going to gain LOTS of momentum.
